Take your senses back in time, to an era when travelling with tents was the only way to explore this magnificent land. With a view stretching out over the plains, to the ancient Lembombo Mountains, the Heritage Tented Safari Camp offers a sense of safari adventure. Situated within the secure estate of the Heritage Safari Lodge, the tented camp is close enough for easy access to the bars, dining and entertainment areas of the main building, and yet removed enough to give you the feeling of a bush camp.

Each tent is fronted by its own private veranda, from which you can enjoy the view, the bird-watching, and the passing antics of the zebra, nyala and impala that roam the grounds. The word 'tent' belies the elegant comfort and spaciousness within, where cool cream or white contrasts with earth tones and slate, while elegant colonial style is counter-pointed style with hints of ethnic inspiration. Roomy double sleeping accommodation is offset by a magnificent bathroom, fitted with both a luxury bath and shower.

With its own helipad, reception boma, private boma for al fresco meals and a magnificent swimming pool featuring natural rock, the Heritage Tented Safari Camp is entirely self-contained and self-sufficient, providing the perfect base for individual travellers or large groups. What better way to experience the romance and mystique of Africa?

The Heritage Tented Safari Camp is the ideal base from which to conduct your exploration of this rich and diverse, natural conservation region. Eco lectures, game drives and guided walks in the Zulu Nyala Game Reserve, are amongst the activities on offer. The camp is also situated close to the Zulu Cultural Village, whose dancers visit us nightly to awe and amaze with their fitness and skill. Supported by tourism, the inhabitants of the village are able to continue their traditional way of life and maintain the cultural practices of their proud Zulu ancestors.

A visit here will show you the layout of a typical Zulu village. See the people at work making baskets or creating their colourful beadworks that convey messages of love, anger or sadness. If you're feeling adventurous, you could try your hand at the dramatic art of stick fighting or if you're curious about the future, visit the mysterious sangoma (witchdoctor) who will divine the secrets of your destiny by throwing the bones.

Also available during your stay at any of the Zulu Nyala venues, is a no obligation, private showing of diamonds, tanzanite, precious and coloured stones and set jewellery, on request. Should you be staying at the Game Lodge, the Nyati / Ndlovu Lodges, the Heritage Safari Lodge or the Heritage Tented Safari Camp, please contact Veena at hvjoory@mweb.co.za.
